Lavender Lips

 

  In 2008 MAC released their Hello Kitty collection and being a Hello Kitty freak (I swear I'm not 6 years old) I wanted it all, especially a lavender lipstick called "Fashion Mews".   At the time I wasn't working a lot and just couldn't afford a MAC lipstick but I regretted not getting it for ages.

  I had heard that the British brand Barry M had a close dupe called Palest Lavender (#129) so when I found a Canadian store selling Barry M (Devu Cosmetics) I ordered it right away.  Around the same time Revlon released their lip butters so I immediately grabbed up the shade Gumdrop as it reminded me of Fashion Mews as well.

  I love both of these lipsticks and they're pretty close in colour and finish.  Both are super creamy and moisturizing.  Palest Lavender is a tad more pigmented and Gumdrop is a bit more pink.  I don't think anyone needs both of these colours but I adore both and recommend them to anyone wanting a lip colour that's a bit different but not too out there.

    Beautiful color! I have one lipstick that is quite similar and always put it on but find myself changing it before I leave the house...I guess it's just not my kind of color. I think it's a really beautiful shade for those who can pull it off and you certainly do!

    When i saw lavendier in the title.... i thought full out purple... I guess not :p. very pretty :)

    I think lavender is a really pretty lip color, back in the day when Urban Decay first started I had a lipstick called Asphyxia and it was a gorgeous lavender. Purple in general looks so good on so many skin tones.

    Oh this is pretty, I think I like the Revlon a little better! PS I also love Hello Kitty

    If you ever get a chance you should go to Pacific Mall is Scarborough (maybe you have already?) It is literally HK heaven!
