Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La La Lilac

This lipstick was yet another goodie I got from the swap I did with Jasmine.  I had asked for this colour specifically as initially when the Maybelline Color Whispers came out a few weeks ago in Canada they didn't have the full line of shades.  When I went to Shoppers last week I saw that they finally had this colour in stock.

Maybelline's Color Whispers are essentially meant to be tinted lip balms and this formula is an exact dupe for something else in my collection, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment.  They smell and feel identical on the lips!  I know a lot of my co-workers are in love with the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment so I'll definately be recommending these as a cheaper alternative.

The colour is absolutely perfect as it's not too light or cool toned.  It is a medium bright pink with a hint of purple and it's sheer texture makes it very wearable.  Oh La La Lilac reminds me of a more wearable and subdued version of MAC Lipstick in Up The Amp.

So if you love the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment or wanted to try them without shelling out a lot of money, I really recommend you check out Maybelline Color Whispers.  There are 20 shades available so there's something for everyone.  I know I'll definately be buying more.

  4. Glad you like it! I bought myself a couple and haven't tried them yet - and I agree that finding a nude lipcolor for someone with "our" complexion is HARD!

  6. Jealous! We don't have these in the UK. They look and remind me of L'Oreal Caresse Lipsticks. That colour is gorgeous, looks so lovely and moisturising on your lips aswell! X x

  8. What a pretty colour! It looks beautiful on you! :) I don't think I could pull this off...I think anything with a lilac tinge makes me look dead. I wish I could though!
