I wouldn't describe this as a coral, it's more of a neon warm toned pink. Shocking Coral actually reminds me of another lipstick I own, MAC's Impassioned but a lighter and warmer version. This particular lipstick is a cream yet I could have sworn the tester in Shoppers had some shimmer running through it.
Maybelline's Color Sensational lipsticks are pigmented and creamy but from my experience they are kind of drying. Seeing as this is a colour I'm more likely to wear in the spring and summer the dryness isn't a huge issue for me but it may bother some. I still think Revlon has the best lipstick forumlas in the drugstore but Maybelline seems to have a nicer selection of colours.
The price of these lipsticks will vary based on where you buy them. I bought this for $10.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart (full price) and think that's a reasonable price.
I just bought this one as well. It is extremely far out of my comfort zone, but it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good bright to start out with! Thank you :)
DeleteThis colour looks gorgeous on you! That is my only problem with Maybelline - there colours are never subtle, which is what I need/want! Fab review tho :)

Thanks :) I find it hard to find subtle lip colours in the drug store :(
DeleteAhh that is my perfect colour!!

It is :)
DeleteLove the colour of this, you can always carry off the bright shades! I've definitely got a lipstick buying problem too ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicky :) Haha I need an extra room in my apartment for my lipsticks soon.
DeleteI prefer this to impassioned! It seems a little less jarring, despite the neon-ness.
ReplyDeleteI still prefer Impassioned but think this is a good one for those afraid of how bold Impassioned is.
DeleteI have this too & I am obsessed with it. Super long lasting isn't it.

Even when I had wiped it off after work it left a really nice stain.
Deleteholy brightness!:)
ReplyDeleteLooks great on you
Haha. Thanks Sabina :)
DeleteOoh, this shade is totally up my alley- and very pretty on you! Reminds me of a slightly more pink version of MAC Crosswires, which I love! xo

It totally is and it'd look great on you!
DeleteWow I really like this colour. I'm still addicted to Revlon but this might have to enter my collection soon!

Yeah I still think Revlon is the best but Maybelline is really stepping up their game.
DeleteThis color is gorgeous! I would've bought these if they changed the scent of the lippie. I'm not a fan of it.
ReplyDeleteYeah the play dough smell is kind of gross.
DeleteI love all the colors they came out with - I have resisted getting this one, but I may have to give in! I think with "our" pale skin it really gives a pretty pop of color without looking harsh. and again I still can't believe how much they charge for this is Canada - It's $5.54 at Target here. I tried looking at the Target Canada website and you can't buy anything off it, but it has the sales flyer for Toronto and it seems close to "our" pricing - so maybe soon you can get better deals. :)
ReplyDeleteWal-Mart would be pretty cheap too I just don't live anywhere near a Wal-Mart or Target :( I should have just ordered it off eBay but it was a spur of the moment purchase lol.
DeleteOh looks so nice one you, I swatched it in stores and thought it would be too bright on me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jasmine :) You could blot it to make it less intense.
DeleteI agree that these are a bit drying, but you really can't beat that price/pigmentation ratio! It's a lovely shade on you Christine!
ReplyDeleteI had orginally intended to buy the one you reviewed but got sidetracked when I saw this. Thanks Annick :)
Deleteahh the colours from the vivids line is gorgeous! i purchased fuchsia flash which I'm going to mention in a future post but now I want that colour too! it's beautiful!!
