Topshop Cream Blush in Flush

Topshop's selection of makeup in Canada is very limited and overpriced yet they occassionally have good sales and student discounts (I take advantage of looking 10 years younger than I am and use my sister's old student i.d.).  Currently there are only Topshops in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary.  Flush is my second cream blush by Topshop and I have yet to understand the hype around these blushes.  I bought this product for the colour alone as I had heard it was a perfect pair for MAC's lipstick in Rebel.

The packaging of Topshop cream blushes are sleek and small with a mirror inside.  The white outer packaging gets dirty pretty quickly but since the packaging is very sturdy and functional that's just a minor issue for me.  You get 4 grams of product with this blush which isn't a lot but since I personally have a ton of blushes I'm not going to finish this anytime soon.

Flush is a bright warm toned pink and somewhat similar to Illamasqua's blush in Hussy.  The colour is perfect for both neutral makeup and pairs well with very dark lips.  I find that Topshop's cream blushes are best applied with a synthetic brush and any of my Real Techniques face brushes work well.  This blush dries to a powder finish and can easily be re-applied over powder or liquid makeup.  This is important because the lasting power of this particular blush is AWFUL.  My other Topshop blush, Neon Rose lasts much longer in comparison.  In the 9 hours that I tend to wear this blush I have to reapply this about 4 times and considering it is 3 times the price of the MUA cream blush I reviewed that's pretty stupid if you ask me.

Although I do love my other Topshop cream blush (Neon Rose) my experience with Flush has made me reconsider purchasing more.  I do think a lot of Topshop makeup products are great (mainly their lipsticks and mascara) but I'd give their Cream Blush in Flush a pass.

Availability:  Topshop (Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal) or Topshop.com

  1. I popped into top shop to check out the makeup... it's ridiculously priced :( The shade is pretty, but it reminds me of something else... can't put a finger on it at the moment. a shame it doesn't last long

    1. Yeah it's stupid especially when the clothes are actually cheaper than the US Topshop! I think a lot of cream blushes come in colours like this which is why it probably looks familiar.

  2. I'm on the fence about cream blush! I want to love it but don't yet. I have a couple of Topshop shades but like this one they don't wear well. Must see if the MUA version can convert me. Looks pretty on you though! :) xx

    1. Yeah they're too much effort most of the time. The only ones I've really liked are the MUA and Illamasqua (which I'll review soon) ones.

  3. That is a crazy short wear time for cream blush! I'm always surprised at their prices, its not that good or that exclusive!

    1. Yeah it's really not that special of an item. I'd probably be better off getting a NYX cream blush next time.

  5. I do love the shade , but reapplying so many times must not make it worth it for it being pretty expensive. I have just bought two of their nail polishes, one in celestial and one in mannequin and I have to say that Topshop has now become my favorite nail polish brand! I'll be doing a NOOTD and Review soon so you can see, but it is really quite something!

    1. Yeah it's a complete waste of time and money so I only wear this when I only need to be made up for a few hours. I have Mannequin nail polish too! Looking forward to seeing your post :)

  6. Oooh, thanks for the review! Love how pretty and versatile this is, but I think Neon Rose is still at the top of my list :)

    1. Yeah Neon Rose is a prettier colour and better performing! I'd recommend ordering it online though when Topshop offers free shipping. It's about half the price that way!

  7. It's a shame this blush has such poor staying power, because it looks great on you!

  10. That blush reminds me of glow from Nyx, I could be completely off but the nyx cream blushes are really beautiful although the topshop packaging is so pretty.

    1. I've only recently discovered a store near me that sells the NYX Cream Blushes so I'll be opting for one of those next time :)
