Review: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder $37CAD

This bronzer has been on my mental wishlist for ages.  My sister loves the orignal Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and since that one is way too dark for me I was excited when this lighter version came out awhile ago.  I have been put off buying this bronzer though because of the price.  I recently had a 10% off coupon for Sephora so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to test it out.

I like this bronzer but I don't love it.  It smells like chocolate which is nice but just seems so unnecessary.  I'm wearing it right now and I can feel my cheeks tingling which I think is from the added fragrance.  Milk Chocolate Soleil is very light so it will only work for very fair skintones.  It is too light to use as a blush but is dark enough for a contour if you're NC/NW 15 or lighter.

I did have my boyfriend take a few pictures of me wearing it but it's just way too light to notice.   It's hard finding a bronzer that works for my skintone and since I'm allergic to corn starch (common ingredient in powder makeup products) my choices are limited.  Unfortunately, I will be returning this product tomorrow.  It just doesn't live up to the price tag and it is very irritating on my skin.

  1. This looks interesting! I like the idea of it smelling like chocolate
Hoola is still my favourite bronzer, despite the fact that I have tried so many different brands

    1. I'd just rather my bath products and candles smell like chocolate, not my face? I really loved Hoola too but it broke me out :(

  2. The main reason I loved the Chocolate Soleil is because if it inadvertently gets into your mouth when applying it tastes like chocolate lol. But I agree I'm too cheap to keep buying it, I may try the lighter colour though.
