How I set my makeup: Winter Edition

As a follow up to yesterday's post, I use MAC Pro Set Powder to set my foundation during colder months.  I use a Laura Mercier powder when it's summer but I find this MAC powder is better suited to the winter when my skin is at it's dryest.

Set Powder is $34 for 30g so it will last for ages and is great value for money.  I've used this powder for a total of 8 months so far and have only used up a third of the container.  Yes, drugstore powders are cheaper but I find I go through those like crazy (Maybelline Dream Matte Powder I'm looking at you!).

This is a very simple powder but is very effective in making my foundation last all day.  I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to corn starch (common ingredient in powder makeup) so my choices are limited.  This power causes me no irritation or breakouts so it's a winner in my books.

You only need the tinest amount of powder to set your foundation so it will last all day long.  I use a powder puff and just lightly dab it on my skin in the morning and I'm done.  I don't need to touch it up at all.  This powder does have a bit of a luminous effect but it doesn't emphasize pores or acne pot mark scars.

Availability: MAC Cosmetics Online or MAC Pro Stores (The Toronto Pro store is at 363 Queen St. W.)

  1. Please take clear photos of the ingredients lists of products! Stating only that there's no cornstarch isn't terribly helpful to those of us who want to know exactly what's in a product. Thanks!

    1. I wrote this post when I first starting blogging hence why this isn't the best/most informative post. If you're curious about the ingredients they can be found on Makeupalley and are: talc, silica, nylon-12, pentaerythrityl, tetraoctanoate, tocopherol acetate, rtiethoxycaprylylsilane, methylparaben, propylparaben.
