My holy grail foundation

After years of wearing makeup I finally found my PERFECT foundation...but there is one con of this product and that is it isn't available in store in Canada.  I don't know how helpful this will be to my Canadian & American readers but if you were curious about ordering this online or are traveling overseas soon maybe it is.

You may have seen the Bourjois stands in select Shoppers Drug Mart stores but they are missing one of their best selling products: Healthy Mix foundation.  Don't be fooled by the "Healthy Mix Serum Foundation", it isn't the same product and in my opinion is no where comparable.  It is also 3 times the price! The colours are exactly the same though so you can go instore to find your shade then order the original Healthy Mix online.

I had heard a lot about this from European blogs and when I saw it on sale for very cheap online last year I ordered it on a whim.  As I mentioned before I went to the U.K. last year and did a huge beauty product haul and I bought a few bottles of this foundation.  I'm pretty sure (?) that it's available in most European countries and Australia & NZ (from what I've read online).

Top: shade 53 Bottom: shade 51
I own Healthy Mix in Shades 51 (comparable to MAC NC15) and 53 (comparable to MAC NC25).  The shades all lean to the warm/yellow side which is hard to find in affordable foundations.  I have fairly clear skin but I get some redness on my cheeks and have some acne scars that I need to cover.

There are many pros of this foundation and they are:
*Buildable coverage
*Can be applied with fingers, sponges, or a foundation brush
*Doesn't irritate my skin or break me out
*Lasts all day (even in extreme humidity)
*Looks like real skin and is never cakey
*Gives skin a dewy glow
*Very affordable ($11-15CAD online)

The cons:
*Only availble online in 2 places (eBay and EChemist)
*Limited shade range for darker skin tones

Note: If you're wary of ordering a foundation online I'd also recommend the Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect foundation but I only don't use it anymore because it's $26CAD (at Shoppers Drug Mart).  It has a similar finish and staying power.

  1. okay that sounds amazing! my skin is light and more on the yellow side so that sounds perfect. plus, i am a fan of buildable coverage (like you, i've got some redness on my cheeks and acne scars!)

  5. Hi Christine,
This is great liquid foundation. It is hard to find a good liquid foundation that gives good coverage and doesn't look like its caked on :)
I've recently got into using glo mineral makeup and it covers all redness too. I've a post about it on my blog if you'd like to check it out. Feel free to follow me too if you like. I followed you as I like to follow and support bloggers with less then 100 members :)

  6. thanks so much for following back. Looking forward to seeing your next post. Shame you can't buy this foundation in stores where you are. Especially when it's the perfect foundation for you :) At least you only need a small amount so you'll have it ages :)
