U.K. Shopping Wishlist

In 3 weeks time I'll be getting on a plane to go to Scotland.  I'll be spending most of my time with family in Edinburgh but we'll be taking a mini trip to York, England and I'll be going to Glasgow as much as I can as I have friends there (and generally prefer it over Edinburgh).  Scotland is somewhere I'm very familiar with as I've been lucky to go over a lot.   I'm half Scottish (although you'd never know my mother is Scottish from hearing her talk) and still have family there.  I've seen all the castles and gone on all the tours and to be completely honest I prefer shopping when on vacation to sight seeing.  Yes, that makes me sound completely uncultured but I guess I am.  I'd much rather see a beautiful building while eating a Boots meal deal (all my money needs to go towards clothes and makeup) then pay an arm and a leg to see wax figures in a musem.

As I'm getting older my priorities are changing and will change so this will probably be the last time for a long while that I can go overseas and blow all my money on clothes and makeup.  I'm going away without my boyfriend so this will be dangerous as I'll have no one there to tell me to stop shopping or trying to drag me to some musem.  Although the highlight of this trip will be to see people I love and miss I'm looking forward to sneaking some shopping in while my parents take bus tours.

I'm trying to be restrained with my makeup shopping as I do have A LOT of it.  BUT in the U.K. you can get crazy coloured makeup for drugstore prices which is way too hard to resist.  I'm putting most of my budget towards clothes and accessories.  I've been having a wardrobe clearout by selling clothes I never wear so I have room for new things.  I'm excited that there is finally a Primark in Edinburgh so I'll be trying to find rip offs there before heading to the more expensive stores like Warehouse and River Island.

While on vacation what do you prefer: shopping or sightseeing?  I know I can't be the only one who prefers shopping.

  1. I try to get a balance between shopping and sightseeing. If it's my first time to that place I do prefer spending more time sightseeing but shopping still has the priority.

  6. The first time I go somewhere, I want to sightsee but I really don't like cramming soo much into one day I can't shop, or have a relaxing meal. If I have been there more than once - than it's time for a TRUE vacation - only relaxing things shopping, sleeping and spas :) I hope you have a WONDERFUL time!

  7. Aw. Cute picture. Have you thought about modeling? :-) Adorable umbrella!!! I really want to buy one in that style... my law school is located in a "London weather" sort of place... so I should think of investing a nice umbrella and rain boots. :)

    1. Hahaha it does! I hope I still make it over to bag some deals in the sales because British stores really have sales unlike our pathetic ones where you don't save much. Thank you :)

  12. It's weird seeing things I find completely boring on someone's wishlist. But I bet my wishlist for your country would seem the same haha.

Have fun in Scotland. York is so much nicer than edinburgh but I'm biased because I'm English ;). I live in Scotland though, Aberdeen. Edinburgh is a weird city, it's so false. It's basically a city of tartan gift shops connected by a bus route.

    1. Haha that is very true; I guess you get used to the same things but for me they're different and hard to track down over here. I'm not a huge fan of Edinburgh either as it's too touristy and expensive, I prefer Glasgow. Thank you :)
