Review: Nicole by OPI Drying Drops

I normally use quick drying top coats which are great to begin with but after awhile when they dry out they end up leaving brush strokes on my nails.  I had heard of drying drops before but had never tried them.  I was in Shoppers Drug Mart awhile ago and this caught my eye and after a quick read of the MakeupAlley reviews on my phone I purchased it.

I've tried Nicole by OPI nail polishes in the past and I didn't like them as the bottle shape makes the polishes hard to use.  This on the other hand, I LOVE!  As per the instructions I wait one minute after applying my top coat and then drop 1-2 drops on each nail.  I do this over the bathroom sink to be safe.

These drops feel like an oil so I am careful not to touch anything while they dry and wash my hands afterwards.  I tend to wear 5 coats of polish (base coat, 3 layers of colour, top coat) and these drops dry it all completely within 5 minutes.  You can paint your nails before bed without worrying that you'll wake up with sheet marks all over them the next morning.

Overall this is a product I recommend if you don't have time to sit around waiting for your nails to dry and or like to change your nail polish frequently.  I'll definately repurchase this when my bottle runs out.

Availability: Shoppers Drug Mart $10.99

  4. At first I hated this but after a couple uses I've come to love it as well!!! I think the problem was that I didn't wait long enough.

    1. Yeah they definately lie about the 1 minute drying time but my nails are definately rock solid dry within 10 minutes.

  5. Oh you're comment is too kind, it's actually all trial and error when it comes to nail art. You should definitely try the glitter one as its something everyone can do and its a nail design that is super easy to do on the opposite hand :) Do try it out and let me know how you get on x

    1. It's so hard doing it on your dominant hand though! I'm excited to try out the glitter pattern as it's such a genious idea :)

  7. Seriously dries in 5 minutes? I think I need to invest in these. I have a few different fast top coat driers but nothing that dries completely like that in under 10minutes.

    1. The Nails Inc. one dries pretty quickly but it gets all gloopy. This is definately a better option :)

  8. I'm a 5 coat kind of polish girl as well - awesome to know this works, even with all the coats!

  9. This sounds pretty good, I always have the problem of smudging my nails as I can never really wait for them to fully dry. Also agree with not being a big fan of the OPI nail polishes, I have only tried a couple of colours but I find them really thin and watery and the colours are never very strong :( xx

    1. Yeah OPI in general is a bit hit or miss. Some of them chip so badly :(
