Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair

To give you a bit of background, I naturally have hair that is coarse and easily damaged.  It takes forever to dry and my hair texture isn't uniform so I blow dry and curl my hair every other day.  I've always wanted to grow my hair super long but it's been impossible due to the amount of split ends I'm prone to so I get it cut every 3 months.

When I got my hair cut back in November I was running low on heat protectant and asked my hairdresser to recommend something to me and this is what he suggested.  I was honestly pretty skeptical because it wasn't obvious this was a heat protectant from it's name nor have I been a huge fan of Aveda products in the past.

This product is housed in a squeeze tube which is a bit annoying as it's a runny liquid and would be better off with a pump.  I use about a dime size of product and comb it through my hair when it's wet.  I find that this heat protectant also makes my hair easier to comb which is a huge bonus as my hair is usually a knotted mess when wet.

After using this product for 3 months I have to say it's amazing.  As you can see above my ends are coarse which I can't fix but there's not a split end in sight.  I actually had to call the salon I go to and move my pre-scheduled appointment to next month.  There is still a lot of product left in the tube so I think this will last me a few more months at the very least.

If you have coarse hair I really recommend this heat protectant as for me it's been a miracle product.

Availability: Aveda and Aveda Salons

  4. I hate seeing split ends as well, my hair is very fine - the best thing I have used is the Kerastase serum, that stuff is amazing

  5. I am really lucky that I don't get split ends easily, I try not to use heat on my hair except for maybe once a week. But that's also why I always wear my hair up! Beacause I don't "style" it a lot. Always glad to hear about things that actually work!

  6. I really love Aveda products. I used the damage remedy line for a long time and I love them. I like to switch between different Aveda lines, like Shampure and Brilliant. Right now I'm using Scalp Remedy as my scalp has been dry.
Anyways, I've don't a couple reviews on a some of the Aveda samples I used lately and I'm working on more now. Check out my blog

  8. Weirdly enough, this is the second blog post on an Aveda product I've seen this evening that's made me think, "right, I'm buying that", and I've never bought anything from them in my life!
My hair is so dry and brittle at the ends. I thought I'd found the remedy for a while, but it seems that any haircare products that have a positive effect on my hair soon stop working their magic, and I'm back where I started. This sounds great, so I've got my fingers crossed!
