Hair Inspiration

All pictures are from Pinterest.
Excuse the lack of makeup and MySpace era side bangs.
When I was a little girl I was never allowed to have long hair.  I was forced to have my thick hair cropped to my ears so once I was old enough to style my own hair I grew it long.  Ever since I've worn my hair fairly long with the exception of when I was 19.  I cut my super long hair into a bob and HATED it.  But back then I didn't know how to curl my hair so it always looked like a helmet.  Yet I can't help but admiring shoulder length styles lately and am thinking of taking the plunge.  I feel like shorter hair would make me look more grown up as looking very young is my biggest insecurity.

  1. DO IT! I think curled hair a little longer than shoulder length would look awesome on you!

  2. I'm loving these styles as well... from afar. I had gorgeous hair down to my waist and made the foolish mistake of cutting it to my shoulders. I absolutely hated it and will be spending the next two years growing it back out. Proceed with caution my dear! :)

I really like the color of the second picture!

    1. Awww that's too bad :( My hair does grow very quickly though so if I hate it it will be for a few months max.

  3. I chopped my hair to a little above my shoulders when I was 30 and have been trying to grow it back ever since. Do NOT worry about looking young TREASURE it, trust me the signs of age will come soon enough and you'll wish someone would think your under 20. You are a lovely girl!

  4. Shoulder length is nice I think. You shouldn't worry about looking young. A lot of people wish they could. I'd love to lie and say I'm 21 and I think people would actually believe that more but I think it's funny to see the shock on people's face when I tell them my real age.

    1. Yeah you do look young too! It's more of a pratical problem like at work or when I forget my I.D. when I'm out even though they say you don't need it if you're over 25.

  10. I like the waves. If I were to get it cut short, I might considering getting my hair waved again.

Anyway haha I love that I can relate xD When I was a kid, I didn't really understand that I can say what I want about my hair...every time we would go, mom would tell the lady to cut it to a bob...A BOB! I have a round enough face as it is...anyway since then, the shortest I have gone is just past my shoulders, and even that was too short for my liking. But these pictures are tempting me to think otherwise...

    1. If I ever have a daughter I'm letting her dictate her own hair length!

  12. I love all of those styles! Is that the length your thinking of cutting it? I would do it if you are able to style it every day! Id love to have hair like this but I am lazy and wont style it everyday so it will just look flat, dull and super straight on me :p To be honest you kind of do look a little older in that picture! I had shorter hair when I was 14-16 and curled it all the time and Im told I look younger now too. I guess it all depends on the look your going for.. shorter hair will probably look more professional, but I hate my shoulders so when I dont cover them with my hair I get really self conscience :p

  13. Just bookmarked this! I've been thinking of taking the plunge and cutting my hair a little shorter- all of these looks are great and I think they would work with my wavy hair.

I think these looks would totally suit you! I get mistaken for being younger all the time (which I don't mind so much, now that I'm 30 ;)), but I agree that slightly shorter hair cuts look a bit more sophisticated. Thanks for sharing the inspiration :)
