Illamasqua Lipstick in Immodest

Immodest is one of Illamasqua's newer lipsticks and I picked it up on a whim after being annoyed that Sephora was sold out of everything else I had planned to purchase.  I have returned this lipstick but I did wear it for one day and thought I would share my thoughts on it.  I know it sounds kind of cheap that I returned something I reviewed on my blog but I did intend to keep this lipstick I just was kind of low on cash at the time.

Immodest is a bold and bright medium pink in a matte formula.  I have tried a handful of Illamasqua's matte lipsticks in the past and although I love them the formula is kind of hard to work with.  They're very thick and unforgiving so much prep is needed before wearing them.  Immodest's formula on the other hand is a million times better.  It is smooth and light and doesn't cling to dry patches.  Immodest is long lasting and non-drying so formula wise it's absolutely perfect.

Colour wise I don't think Immodest is very unique which is what made me return it.  I'm sure I could find a similar colour in the drugstore for a fraction of the price.  I also don't think it's the perfect shade for my colouring.  I'd imagine it'd look amazing with dark or light hair but since I have a weird hair colour (I don't even know whether to call myself a blonde, brunette, or redhead)  it's not the best shade of pink out there for me personally.  If you don't have anything like this in your collection I'd recommend it as the formula is amazing but as someone who has way too many lipsticks it's not a must have for me.

Availability: Sephora ($30 CAD) or ASOS ($28.82 CAD with free shipping)

  7. Looks AWESOME! I haven't tried this brand of lipsticks yet, but I'm going to look into it. I think this might be looking a bit more vibrant in person, right, so I am not sure if I'll feel comfortable wearing it, but I like it on you as always! :) I am forcing myself to become a little adventurous though since I love lippies and is basically the only makeup item other than nail polish that interests me. ^_^

    1. You should try out some cheaper or more sheer bright lipsticks first then! MAC is even more afforable than Illamasqua and they make some great brights :)

  10. It's a really nice shade. I have my personal issues with Illamasqua so I wouldn't be buying it but ah the price anyway. Expensive.

    1. I'm pretty sure these are drastically cheaper in the US too which is where I've bought all my previous Illamasqua lipsticks :(

    1. Yeah the prettiness made me ignore the price and then I got home and regretted it lol. I think Wet N' Wild has a similar colour I may go to Wal-Mart and look for a dupe :)

    1. It is so high because Sephora and other companies like to rip Canadians off lol.

  13. I think it looks nice on you. It may not be a unique shade but perhaps still worth owning considering that it has a nice formula.

    1. Thank you :) I only think it's worth spending that kind of money if it's something really special.
